White House National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson claimed in a written statement that the perpetrator of yesterday’s attack was Lebanese Hezbollah.
“EVERYONE SHOULD CONDEMN THIS ATTACK”
Watson said, “This attack was carried out by Lebanese Hezbollah. This was their rocket and it was fired from an area under their control. Everyone should condemn this attack.”
Noting that they are in close contact with Israeli and Lebanese officials, Watson emphasized that the United States will continue its unwavering support for Israel and that they are also working for a diplomatic solution along the Blue Line.
In its first statement yesterday, the US administration condemned the attack but did not mention that Hezbollah was the perpetrator of the attack.
ATTACK ON MECDEL SHEMS
In a rocket attack on a football field in the town of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, 11 people, including children, were killed and 24 people were injured, 6 of them seriously.
The Israeli army spokesman said in a statement that the attack was carried out by Lebanese Hezbollah “based on their assessment of the situation and the intelligence they have.”
The Hezbollah Movement denied the allegations that the attack in Majdal Shams was carried out by them.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also made a statement regarding the attack, saying, “Israel will not write this deadly attack off. Hezbollah will pay a heavy price that it has never paid before.”
