A gifted gymnast with a title in her specialty of horse jumping, Coline Devillard has overcome many obstacles to present herself at the 2024 Paris Olympics with strong ambitions.
Born in Saint-Vallier on October 9, 2000, Coline Devillard fell into gymnastics at the age of two thanks to her father, who had done it in his youth, and because there were no other activities offered in her village. She was then licensed at the Amicale laïque Digoin club. In 2011, she was spotted by two Chinese coaches Jian Fu Ma and Hong Wang working for the French Gymnastics Federation. Gifted, she was the youngest to join the Dijon espoir pole. Bathed in an environment of girls, “Coco” struggled to find her place, suffered mockery and even hesitated to return to her family. that she cried every night on the phone. She experienced her release three years later when she joined INSEP. Her progress was slowed by numerous injuries with no less than six fractures to her feet (three on each side). Recently, the Japanese culture enthusiast also did not hesitate to break a form of taboo by admitting that she experiences painful menstruation which causes her difficulties in her sports practice.
