Woman seriously injured after collision with police car

A woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after she collided with a police vehicle in Örebro, the police say.

The police were on call when the collision occurred. The woman was driving a car. The person driving the police vehicle has been taken to hospital for examination. The condition of the driver’s injuries is unclear.

– This came to us at 15:17, when we had a police vehicle that was on its way to a priority one case, which collided at an intersection in central Örebro, says police spokesperson Lars Hedelin.

A preliminary investigation into traffic violations will be initiated.

The accident scene is cordoned off and a car inspector is there. Drones are also used to document the location.

– Then we look over whether it is the case that there are surveillance cameras in the area where this accident could possibly be caught on film.
