Gameplay for Vessel of Hatred shows a feature that fans have wanted since the release of Diablo 4, makes travel better

Blizzard is planning Vessel of Hatred, the first expansion for Diablo 4. Recently shown gameplay is revealing more and more details about new features. Players have been wanting one of them since the release, even though it’s actually just a tiny quality-of-life change.

This is what the players want:

  • In Diablo 4 there are several capital cities, one for each region, and with Vessel of Hatred there is another one: Kurast. If you use your city portal, you will always end up in the capital of the region you are currently in.
  • This has been bothering players since the game was released, as some cities have a better layout than others and are more “convenient”. One of the biggest threads on Reddit at the time already called for marking a city as a favorite so that you can always go to it.
  • This would save you time and you wouldn’t have to go to the trouble of selecting the city on the map. It looks like Blizzard is adding exactly this feature to Vessel of Hatred.
  • Where does the information come from? Shortly before the official launch of Spiritborn, Blizzard invited a few experts to their home in Irvine, California, to play the class in advance. There, they also had the opportunity to explore the new Nahantu area.

In his gameplay, streamer and YouTuber Rob was meticulous about selecting as many new functions as possible with the mouse in order to analyze them later. One detail caught his eye (via wowhead).

The capital city of Kurast now has a function that allows you to set the city as a favorite by right-clicking (on the PC) – exactly the function that players have been wanting for a year. There are a few details in Rob’s gameplay that even the expert himself didn’t notice.

We don’t yet know whether the function will work in all cities, but it would be logical. Of course, it is not yet certain whether the feature will actually be introduced, but there is nothing that speaks against it.

MeinMMO was also invited to the event. Here you can find our impression of Spiritborn, in the video you can see the new gameplay with commentary:

Vessel of Hatred makes tons of wishes come true

City Favorites is just one of many features that will be added to Vessel of Hatred, if they arrive, but we already know that Vessel of Hatred will fulfill a ton of fan requests, including:

It wasn’t until Season 4 that the game experienced a new upswing, with the entire loot system being overhauled and the endgame becoming much more appealing to players. Vessel of Hatred is clearly continuing the trend.

In terms of pure content, Vessel of Hatred adds the new area Nahantu with the capital Kurast south of Kehjistan. The area is an overgrown jungle with new enemies, including a cult, new demons and wild animals.

The story also continues. You will find out what happens to Mephisto’s soul stone, which Neyrelle stole at the end of the campaign. The intro already shows that the “thief” is not doing particularly well with it. No wonder when you consider who she has gotten involved with: Mephisto is going to be the new boss in Vessel of Hatred – who is that anyway?
