Kunikuusravit is celebrating its 100th anniversary these days. They got the much-needed extra spice when VG Voitto defeated Evarti and Parvelan Retu, who dominated the sport, in the Suur-Hollola race in Lahti at the end of June.

The same thing happened two weeks later in Mikkeli’s Suurmestaruuskilva.

Parvelan’s Retu eventually has to miss the kingship due to leg problems, so according to preliminary plans, a brutal duel between 7-year-old VG Voito and 13-year-old Evart is ahead.

VG Voito’s nurse Kaisa Tamminen however, even the pre-favorite is under pressure.

– Vote has never participated in three competitions in two days. It’s a complete puzzle. Everything should be buttoned, and there should be no pockets.

VG Voitto defeated the previous rulers in Lahti, even though he galloped at the start and fell behind by tens of meters.

According to Kaisa Tamminen, the horse’s performance is also affected by what mood it happens to be in. It often greets its fellow competitors with a hoot.

– Its humor varies a little on different days.

Evart’s training program has been changed

Owned by Grönfors Training from Inko and from Juva Seppo Suuronen The excerpts of Ori coached have also been noted in Evart’s camp.

– Slightly heavier exercises have been done when we noticed that we are a bit underdogs, coach Antti Ojanperä says.

Very successful in age group competitions Jukka Grönforsin and Soile Grönforsin the breed has rarely competed in the previous two years. Last summer it was seen on the track only twice, this year there are five starts.

VG Voito’s breakthrough to the top of the breed has been seen at midsummer in Härmä and a week later in Lahti. It has only competed 37 times in its career. There are 20 wins in the statistics.

Evartti, on the other hand, has won everything possible in his career. It has 119 races behind it, of which it has won 51 and has been in the top three almost a hundred times. Ori’s total earnings are a whopping 1.1 million euros.

The director’s choices increase the interestingness of the duel between the newcomer and the veteran. Evart is at the helm of the brightest star of the young generation Santtu Raitala. VG Voito’s stroller has an experienced driver Ari Moilanen.

When the two last met in Mikkeli in mid-July, the young challenger crossed the finish line first. The differences between the stallions were measured in cents and hundredths of a second.

Ari Moilanen considers the challenger to be a talented rocker.

– I’ve experienced a lot in my long career, but nothing like that after such a distance we can still come out victorious like what happened in Suur-Hollola.

The kingship of the stallions will be held on Killer with 10 horses, because in addition to Parvelan Retu, Vappuäijä had to leave the game due to health reasons.

You enter the race as a kind of wild card Antti Tupamäki coach Issakan Valo. The stallion moved to Jyväskylä Ahti Ruoppilan ownership in the winter and has quickly risen to the top ranks of Finnish horses.

Instead, a full dozen mares are competing for the title of queen. Preliminarily, the strongest are considered to be the people from the island of Košice Harri Kotilainen guided by Lumi-Oosa and Lahtlainen Tapio Perttunen Summer Velvet. Both have been crowned in previous years.
