Football fans rage over the prices of beer and snacks

The football season is in full swing and Stockholm’s stadiums are filled with hungry football supporters. Since 2013, the clubs Hammarby and Djurgården play at the Tele2 arena in Johanneshov, Stockholm. However, the arena is not very popular among football fans.

Supporter clubs boycott kiosks and bars: “We have been patient”

On Instagram Among other things, Djurgården’s supporter club “Järnkaminerna Stockholm” calls on its members to boycott Tele2’s bars and kiosks during Thursday’s European qualifying match against Progrés Niederkorn. The boycott will also continue at the Hovet arena if they do not agree to the supporters’ demands.

Hammarby’s supporters’ clubs have done the same. In a post on Instagram all supporter clubs sign the boycott.

“We have been patient – too much patience, most would probably say – and we have tried to be constructive in several rounds, but when meetings and promises just run into the sand, we see no other solution than to call for a complete boycott of all the arena’s kiosks .”, writes Hammarby’s supporters clubs.

Both teams’ supporters’ clubs boycott the kiosks because of the prices.

“When the prices of food and drink match the quality we get, we look forward to blowing off the boycott,” write Hammarby’s supporters’ clubs.

Djurgården’s supporter clubs provide examples:

“For example, a soft drink costs more than SEK 50 and a normal strong beer costs SEK 82.”

Supporters in the comments section: “Knock the beer away”

The comment fields have been filled with angry supporters testifying to far too expensive drinks and snacks. On Järnkaminern’s Instagram, supporters talk about their experiences.

“Thank you for taking a stand. For me, with a family of 7, a match is as expensive as an all-day activity at e.g. Kolmården, Gröna lund, etc…”

“Advertise this also on site”

“Knock the beer out of the hands of those who shop”

Among the comments no less than is glimpsed Pernilla Wahlgren’s MAN Christian Bauer. He also supports the decision.

“Well written and follows fully”

It also looks similar in Hammarby’s supporters club’s Instagram.

“This is not a day too late.”

“Fantastic initiative that I hope EVERYONE respects”

“Quite right, hope other teams hang on”
