Google fixes problems with wireless charging and the front camera

Google has just started rolling out its monthly update for its Pixel smartphones. The April 2022 edition will be of particular interest to owners of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, as the manufacturer fixes several particularly sensitive bugs.

First, it improves the wireless charging performance of the terminal. Google indicates in its notes that the improvement concerns the use with some accessories, but does not specify which ones. But if your Pixel 6 or 6 Pro is having trouble charging wirelessly, the update might fix your problem. It also fixes two bugs that impact the photo part. So the front camera works better with some apps and doesn’t cause an unwanted magnification effect. Next, Google fixed a bug that sometimes causes a green screen to appear when previewing the image from smartphone cameras. On the other hand, the manufacturer does not seem to have taken into account the criticisms of many users, who complain of a loss of power from the haptic engine after the March update.

The update also includes the correction of other bugs that affect most terminals in the range (from Pixel 3a to Pixel 6 Pro). Examples include issues with displaying animations, error messages when using animated wallpapers, crashes when using PiP (Picture in Picture) mode, or Quick Settings not displaying invisible (Quick Settings).

Note that the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro benefited two weeks late from the March Pixel Drop update, which brings new functions. The rollout of the April update is gradual. It will thus depend on the country and the operator. So you might have to wait a bit before you get the notification that it’s available on your Pixel.
