300 travelers stranded in Norrbotten – had to sleep on trains

At 8 pm on Tuesday evening, the train stopped in Gällivare. Vy Tåg announced that the rails had been hit by a solar curve and that replacement buses would be deployed – but none ever arrived.

– We were promised a hotel but had to sleep on the train instead, says traveler Kjell Karlsson.

Disappointed with the lack of information

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, the travelers arrived in Luleå and around 11:30 replacement buses started rolling towards Umeå.

– We are promised fast trains in Umeå, but there is no forecast for when. We should have arrived in Stockholm 1.5 hours ago, says Kjell Karlsson, who is disappointed by Vy tåg’s inadequate information.

– It is extremely regrettable, but at the same time track faults are not something we can influence, says Petter Östmark på Vy, Nattåget Norrland business manager.
