A player in Elden Ring invades another’s world, preferring to give gifts instead of fighting

Players in Elden Ring can invade other people’s worlds and engage in PvP duels. However, a Reddit user is now reporting on an unusual invasion that ended with a generous gift.

What are invasions? In Elden Ring, just like in the Dark Souls series, you can invade other players’ worlds. This is called invasion and can quickly cause additional stress in the often stressful everyday life of an Elden Ring player.

If you were just busy with a PvE opponent, a real enemy player suddenly joins in. Honorable invaders naturally wait until the host has eliminated all threats and can fully devote themselves to the PvP duel. Others, however, show little honor and just hit out. Death usually comes to the host pretty quickly.

A Reddit user recently had an unusual encounter with an invader.

A generous intruder

What happened to the player? User Emergencyailoli reports on Reddit that he was ambushed by an unknown invader. He thought there would be a fight, but to his great surprise, the invader did not want to engage in a duel.

Instead, it dropped large amounts of runes that the host could simply collect. Runes are the currency in Elden Ring, like souls in other Souls games. You use them to level up yourself and your equipment, and you can buy items from merchants.

Anyone who has a lot of runes has a clear advantage in Elden Ring and can strengthen their own character. The Invader not only dropped a few thousand runes, but also 99 of the best versions. The strongest runes, those of Queen Marika, bring an impressive 80,000 units when used.

Thanks to the 99 pieces that the host received just like that and without giving anything in return, he can quickly improve his character by numerous levels. But he doesn’t understand why he was so lucky. He writes under his post: “Why would someone do something like that?”

What does the community say? Such a generous act does not go unnoticed by the players. They share their opinions on Reddit:

  • “Sounds like you found the Loot Goblin,” writes Ronin_26 on Reddit, although this goblin doesn’t keep the loot for himself.
  • “He was invaded by Robin Hood,” chronicbruce27 makes another fitting comparison on Reddit.
  • “I would [die Runen] not for leveling up [des Charakters] “Don’t use any weapons, just level up all the weapons you can,” recommends AdDeep4130 on Reddit.
  • “The same thing happened to me and the next day it detected inappropriate activity when logging in and since then I’ve only been able to play offline,” warns lawschoolthrowaway22 on Reddit. However, the message in question may be a harmless error.
  • The dreaded invasions lose some of their terror through a story like this. Other players, however, fight against their invaders and defeat them to get a pile of runes. When there are an unusually large number, some Elden Ring players become skeptical, as in one interesting case that brought the winner of the duel a whopping 80 million runes.
