Espoo’s Tapioen Enni Nurmi walked on Tuesday in Riihimäki for the fastest time in the women’s 10,000 meter track walk ago Sari Essayahin peak years. Nurmi’s time at Riihimäki was 45.31.86.
Nurmi improved his record by about two minutes. The second Riihimäki competition was Lappeenranta’s Urheilu-Miesten Tiia Kuikka at time 48:25,29.
Among the Finnish women, only Essayah has performed faster than the grass in the 10,000 meter walk on the track. He walked the distance in his world championship year 1993 in a time of 42:37.0.
