2024 Olympics: 3 days before the opening ceremony, the athletes arrive in Paris

Some 15,000 athletes are expected for these Games. Their arrival is spread over several days as the D-Day of the Games approaches. Games approaching, the arrivals are coming one after the other at a good pace. This Tuesday, it was the Danes, the Croats, the Swedes and the Algerians who landed, says Pierre Oliverfrom terminal 2B at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport.

The Norwegian women’s handball team has also arrived in Paris.

In a delegation, there are the athletes of course, but also the sports and medical staff. There are also media and all that makes a lot of people who do not necessarily arrive on the same flight, sometimes several hours, or even several days apart.

The excitement of the Games

Among the athletes met this Tuesday morning, many are coming for the first time to Paris and seem just as excited by the Games themselves, as by the discovery of the Olympic village and especially the sports facilities in the heart of the capital, next to the symbolic monuments of the France. All those met hope to have time during the Games to enjoy a little of Paris and taste French gastronomy.

On the other hand, the shooting teams who are leaving this afternoon for Châteauroux, where the events will be held, seemed a little disappointed earlier not to be able to discover the capital straight away.

Olympic Village

The athletes’ village located north of Paris, in Seine-Saint-Denis, is in full swing. The athletes are taking up residence in their accommodation like the Irish or the Swedes. And it is at the entrance to this Olympic village that the delegations continue to arrive, under the eye of a few curious people and residents of Seine-Saint-Denis like Wahad, who does not miss a crumb of the show.
