Who said the Olympic Games only started this Friday? Certainly not us! The Olympic Games are starting this Wednesday, July 24 with the very first team sports events, including men’s rugby 7s with the star of the French XV, Antoine Dupont.
Les Bleus could bring home one of the first gold medals of this Olympic fortnight this weekend with the finals scheduled for Saturday, July 27. But before thinking about a possible medal, the winners of the World Rugby Sevens Series final must do the job during the group stage which begins this Wednesday afternoon.
France is present in group C with the United States, Uruguay and especially Fiji, the Olympic champions in Tokyo, here is the program for the day in rugby 7s:
