Now Patrik Westberg talks about the disappointment with TV4.

Anyone who at some point every season decides to watch an SHL game has heard his voice. Patrik Westberg commented on his first SHL match back in 2005, and has since become one of Sweden’s most popular commentators.
Nobbas in the playoffs
Westberg has also commented on the Allsvenskan in football and handball, but it is the SHL matches that he is most associated with. But despite his popularity and the fact that he comments many games during the regular season, it has almost become a habit that he is poked every time there are playoffs.
TV4 simply chooses other commentators when everything has to be decided, and that was also the case this spring. Now Westberg opens up about this year’s teasing of TV4.
– It was a terrible disappointment, that’s right. I mean, it’s my life, it’s the most fun I know. So it is clear that you are terribly disappointed when you are not allowed to participate. I would like to be with almost all the way at some point, he tells GP.
“It’s boring”
Westberg believes that it is frustrating to be in all 52 rounds in the regular season, only to then be poked when it is decided.
– It’s sad not to be in the playoffs, yes. If I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t like my job. I must be allowed to like that, right? You can’t control it, I can’t, he says.
Patrik Westberg has recently extended his contract with TV4 over another three years, and will also be promised more playoff matches. But he does not know why there have been fewer.
– They say this is the lineup we have. Otherwise, I think it’s too difficult. You cannot decide who is better and who is worse – but that is up to people. Yes, it’s a matter of taste, he says.
