The Israeli army confirms that it has launched a new ground offensive in southern Gaza.
At least 70 Palestinians have been killed and more than 200 wounded after Israel launched a ground attack on the eastern parts of the city of Khan Yunis on Monday, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
It has not been possible to independently confirm the casualty figures reported by the Ministry of Health, but the UN and human rights organizations consider the figures to be reliable.
News channel Al Jazeera according to Israel launched its military action on Monday just minutes after the country’s military ordered an evacuation from the humanitarian area of Khan Yunis. The evacuation order concerned approximately 400,000 Palestinians.
The Times of Israel According to the Israeli army, planes and artillery struck about 30 targets of terrorist groups on Monday. According to the Israeli military, Hamas has recently sought to regroup in Khan Younis, following Israel’s withdrawal from the city three months ago.
The Prime Minister of Israel, who is currently traveling to the United States Benjamin Netanyahu according to the conflict, the parties to the conflict are scheduled to continue negotiations on a ceasefire next Thursday.
