NCIS fans have already said goodbye to Mark Harmon, but they don’t have to do without his character Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Soon, NCIS: Origins will be a prequel about the popular investigator.

Harmon will be replaced by his young colleague Austin Stowell, for whom Harmon just two words of advice had.

This is what Mark Harmon said to the new Gibbs actor for NCIS: Origins

During the TCA presentation, the NCIS: Origins star recently explained that his Gibbs will be completely different from the one we know from the original series (via USA Today ):

This is not the Gibbs the world knows. This is a broken person searching for his identity.

Harmon, who is executive producer and narrator of the prequel series, was a man of few words, just like his character, and had some succinct advice for his successor. Stowell recalls:

During the screen test, Mark came up to me and gave me two words that I will never forget: Trust yourself.
