However, according to one poll (NPR / PBS / Marist), Harris would lead the race with 50 percent support. In all polls, Harris’ support is the same or better than Biden’s.
Between different states, there are bigger differences in the support of Trump and Harris. Trump is in the lead in some, Harris in others.

Based on the latest polls, Harris would therefore appear to be a slightly more popular candidate than Biden. However, the polls may look different now that Biden has officially announced that he is leaving the race.
Harris’s advantage in the race is his recognition in relation to other possible Democratic candidates. Donors also seem to trust Harris’ candidacy, as immediately after Biden’s announcement, donations started pouring in to Harris’s campaign team. Many public figures have also announced their support for Harris’s candidacy.
