2:10 PM: Fire at Bosch en Duin golf club

A barn of Golfclub De Pan in Bosch en Duin has completely burned down. This caused a large plume of smoke to which many people responded, according to the fire department. How the fire started is not yet clear.

The barn was used to store equipment for grounds maintenance. Several fire engines and water tankers were needed to extinguish the fire. According to a fire department spokesperson, there were no injuries.

1:30 PM: Police present in former church Amstelhoek

Police were present at the Kruiskerk in Amstelhoek (De Ronde Venen) this morning. The church on Piet Heinlaan has not been used as such for a number of years, but has been given a different purpose as an event location.

Photos show police officers entering the church. A press photographer on the scene reports that officers were investigating and entered the church around midnight. The police did not want to answer any questions about this today.

09:50 am: No trains between Utrecht and Rotterdam

No trains are running between Utrecht Central Station and Rotterdam Central Station this morning. This is due to a signal failure. The NS expects the failure to be resolved around 11:30 and that trains will then be running again.

08:05: 5 injured in stabbing in Amersfoort

Five people were injured in a stabbing incident on the Velduil in Amersfoort last night. The police have arrested four people for the stabbing.

9:50 PM: Motorcyclist injured Woudenberg

A motorcyclist was injured in an accident in Woudenberg this evening. A police spokesperson reports that the victim is in the ambulance and is responsive.

9:30pm: Escaped serval found

The serval that escaped this morning in Lexmond has been recaptured. Gerrit de Boom of Animal Ambulance Vianen and surroundings reports that the animal walked into a special trap.

6:40 PM: Woman rescued from water on mobility scooter

A woman who ended up in the water with her mobility scooter in Hoogland on Saturday afternoon was pulled back to shore by a bystander. The fire brigade then towed her mobility scooter to dry land.

5:20 PM: Supermarket evacuated in Bunschoten

In Bunschoten, the Vomar supermarket was temporarily evacuated this afternoon after people smelled a strange odor and some people suddenly had to cough. Because it was warm outside, the waiting people were given ice cream and water by the staff.

The fire department investigated in the meantime whether something was wrong, but could not find anything. The store was then released again.

13:04: Serval escapes in Lexmond

The animal ambulance from Vianen and surroundings is looking for an escaped serval. The animal is a feline that originally comes from Africa and lives there on the savannahs and grasslands.

Because the animal is very shy, you are asked not to approach it yourself, but to call 112 immediately. You are also asked to keep dogs on a leash in the Lexmond area.

In Belgium, keeping a serval is already prohibited. In the Netherlands, buying the animal as a pet is prohibited from 1 July. To prevent people from releasing unauthorized pets into the wild, servals that are currently kept as pets may remain with their owner until the owner dies.

11.10 am: Fire in food truck at De Uithof

A fire broke out in a food truck on the Heidelberglaan at Science Park De Uithof. The fire brigade was quickly on the scene to extinguish the fire and quickly got the fire under control.

Large plumes of smoke from the fire were visible from the A27.

07.10 am: Trauma helicopter to Vleuten for accident with electric scooter

A trauma helicopter was called out last night for an accident in Vleuten. On the Smalle Themaat a stepper had gone off the path and fallen on his head. It was an elderly man and an electric step.

Landen was not needed in the end, because it turned out to be less serious than expected. The man was taken to hospital with a head injury.
