Manse PP holds the top spot in the women’s Superpesis standings with a three-point difference from Lapuan Virki.
In the battle for the top of the Women’s Superpesis, Manse PP defeated Lapua Virkiä after the home match with a score of 2–1k (1–3, 5–0, 1–0).
The difference between the Tampere team at the top of the league table and Virki, which is second, is now three points. Seinäjoki Maila-Jussit is third, having played one less match than the top two, and is 11 points behind Manse PP.
Sunday’s win was Manse PP’s second win over Virkiia of the season.
In the second inning of the first period, Virki scored three runs Iina Lehtinen, Janette Lepistön and Anniina Kangasluoman with punches. It was enough to win the period, as Manse PP narrowed the gap with only one run in their last inning.
In the second period, the runs could be waited until the last inning. It starts with Manse PP’s joker Maija Vastamäki hit the ball from the second side into the scenery in a two-fire situation. With the starting situation, the hit took the people of Tampere to a four-run lead, when Vastamäki went around the field rolling the kunnar. The lead grew even more when Vastamäki ran home a moment later Saga-Angelia Raudasojan with a punch.
The match progressed to a home run, when Virki could not match the runs made by the opponent with his equalizer.
In the take-off race, Virki was left to zero, so for Manse PP’s away win, it was enough that in the first pair Siri School brought Raudasoja home.
In the other women’s Superpesis matches of the day, Hyvinkää’s Tahko will face Pori’s Pesäkarhut and Joensuu’s Maila Pöytä Urheilijat. These matches are still in progress.
