First statement on Trump’s injury: Recovering

A week after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, his staff releases a medical report on the condition of the former US president.

According to Ronny Jackson, a staunch Trump supporter who was also his doctor during his time in the White House, the bullet that was fired was less than 0.6 centimeters from hitting Trump’s head. Instead, it hit the top of the right ear.

The initial swelling caused by the injury has subsided and the ear has begun to heal, but Trump still bleeds, requiring bandages at times. Further on, Trump will have to go through a hearing test.

“In summary, former President Trump is doing well, and is recovering as expected from the gunshot wound he sustained Saturday afternoon,” Jackson writes.

Jackson is today a Republican member of the House of Representatives. During his time as Trump’s White House physician, he became known for praising the president’s “incredible genes.”
