After 1,400 hours in Baldur’s Gate 3, player finds new content and discovers how a fish saves the world

A player wanted to find out what happens when he discards a valuable item in Baldur’s Gate 3. In doing so, he discovered new game content that is only triggered when he does so.

One player wanted to find out what happens when you get rid of netherstones in every possible way. These stones are very important in the game, but without giving away any major spoilers: you cannot win the game without the stones.

YouTuber and gamer Proxy Gate Tactician has now invested 1,400 hours to find out what happens when you get rid of these stones. In the process, he unlocked completely new content, because the developers at Larian Studios apparently suspected that you could “lose” the Netherstones.

What usually happens to the stones? If you lose netherstones under normal circumstances, the Emperor will usually either remind you of the stones or bring them directly to your camp. Or the game is over immediately if the stones cannot be found.

What did the player do? One player has now gone a step further and put a stone in the “Iron Throne” and then made the area inaccessible. The Iron Throne is an underwater prison that can only be reached by submarine. You can find the entire video of his action on YouTube:

But Larian seems to have “planned” such an action: If you “lost” the stone in this way, an encounter with the Sahuagin on the nearby bank of the lower Baldur’s Gate city will change. One of the Sahuagin will now carry the stones that you lost.

If you kill the Sahuagin before disposing of the stones, Old Troutman, a fisherman near the coast, will offer you the stones for three gold each.

If you take out both the sahuagin and the fisherman, your netherstones will be swallowed by a fish that washes up dead on the same shore, just waiting for you to reclaim your stones. The fish therefore more or less saves your game and the world.

Larian Studios seems to have assumed that players could lose the Netherstones in strange ways.

By the way, YouTuber Proxy Gate Tactician is the one who will give you almost 500 euros if you find an extremely rare cutscene in Baldur’s Gate 3. What kind of cutscene this is and why it is so rare, you can read on MeinMMO: Baldur’s Gate 3: A cutscene is so rare that a YouTuber will give you 470 euros if you find it
