Slovenian Tadej Pogacar soars to final victory after winning stage

Alone in the world, Tadej Pogacar took a decisive step towards the final victory in the Tour de France by winning the 19th stage solo, Friday July 19 in the Isola 2000 ski resort. The Slovenian attacked 9 kilometers from the summit to swallow up the last escapees one by one and already sign his fourth victory in this 111th edition. Two days from the final finish in Nice, he now has a 5’03 lead over Jonas Vingegaard and 7’01 over Remco Evenepoel in the general classification. Barring an accident, the UAE leader will therefore win his third Tour de France after 2020 and 2021 and take a resounding revenge on Vingegaard, winner of the last two editions.
