What is Splitgate? Spligate is an arena shooter that started as a hidden gem in 2019 and quickly became very popular with fans of the genre. It featured a number of different modes, such as team deathmatch and zone conquest.

The gameplay was very reminiscent of Halo, but the gameplay had a special twist: you could create portals through which you could travel, shoot or even just look. This gave the shooter a special tactical element.

How has Splitgate been doing lately? In September 2022, the developers announced that they would no longer be working on Splitgate 1, although the servers would continue to run (via splitgate.com).

On Steam, Splitgate lost a large portion of its players years ago (via Steamcharts). The shooter hasn’t cracked 1,000 concurrently active players on Steam since September 2022. Splitgate hasn’t had more than 10,000 players since September 2021.
