The playground at Waterford Public School on East Church Street has been closed due to safety concerns about its equipment.
Olivia Hull, communications assistant with the Grand Erie District School Board, said an inspection of the equipment at the end of the school year revealed “some wear and tear.”
Hull said the board’s facilities services blocked off the area and “will determine the next steps to ensure student safety.”
Hull said daily, monthly and annual inspections of playground equipment are done throughout the school year to ensure it’s safe to use.
