The defender who has represented Rauman Lukko in recent seasons is moving to the HC Energie Karlovy Vary team.

HC Energie Karlovy Vary, playing in the Czech Premier League Extraliga announced on their website that they have acquired a Finnish defender Tarmo Reunanen to his team. The contract is for one year.

The 26-year-old defender played last season in Rauma Luko, finishing with 28 points in 55 matches.

Sports Director of Karlovy Vary Jiří Kalous says that Reunanen was the first defender that the club contacted.

– We already followed him during the last season. He is an effective attacking defender who also has experience abroad, the sports director said.

Reunanen will join the strength of the Czech team at the end of July.

– The team strengthened very well during the transfer season and I look forward to working together and I believe that I will help the team develop and succeed in the coming season, Reunanen said on the team’s website.

– I have never been to Karlovy Vary, but I have heard a lot of good things about the city and I have seen from the pictures that the city is beautiful, Reunanen added.

Reunanen wore the Leijonapaita in two Euro Hockey Tour matches in February. He has also played four NHL games for the New York Rangers in the 2020-2021 season.
