US President Joe Biden has tested positive for covid-19. He has interrupted his campaign in Las Vegas to fly home to Delaware.

– I’m fine, shouted the president, giving a thumbs up to reporters from his car as he was about to board the presidential plane in Las Vegas for the trip home.

Joe Biden has been infected with covid-19 several times before, writes the BBC. According to the White House, he is vaccinated and has received a booster dose. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre states that the president will isolate himself in his residence in Delaware and work fully on the responsibilities of a president.

Biden was in Las Vegas, Nevada to meet Spanish-speaking voters and speak at a conference organized by the organization Unidos.

The president’s physician, Kevin O’Connor, said in a statement that the president has a runny nose, cough and malaise and is receiving antiviral medication.
