Almost two-thirds of Democrats say they hope that the president of the United States Joe Biden would give up his presidential candidacy.

According to a survey commissioned by the AP news agency and the University of Chicago-based NORC polling institute, only three Democrats out of ten say they are sure that Biden would be able to handle the presidency effectively during the new four-year term.

The poll shows that 81-year-old Biden’s party is genuinely concerned about the president’s current condition. Biden himself has played down calls from the Democratic camp to withdraw from the presidential race, and has sought to convince his party that he is still the best candidate for the Republican presidential nomination Donald Trump’s to defeat.

A recent poll shows that the vice president is not Horrible Harris the possible candidacy is viewed in the party more favorably than Biden.

The survey was mainly conducted before the assassination attempt on Trump on Saturday, and therefore it is not clear whether the failed assassination has possibly affected positions within the Democratic Party.

Yet another Democrat is calling for Biden to step aside

On Wednesday, one more prominent member of the Democratic Party publicly turned against Biden’s candidacy.

Congressman Adam Schiff California urged Biden to stop campaigning.

– Another Trump term would undermine the entire foundation of our democracy. I strongly doubt that Biden can beat Trump in November, Schiff told The Los Angeles Times.
