This is what Tenet is about: Following the plot requires great attention. The main character, known as the protagonist (John David Washington), is tasked with preventing nothing less than World War III. In the special unit “Tenet” he learns how people in the future will be able to manipulate time. For the protagonist, time is therefore a tool against evil forces.
How time works in Tenet: Technology from the future allows all kinds of things to be reversed in their time flow. Things that have actually already happened can be undone. But not only that: They can also happen backwards. And that’s where it gets really complicated and unique: In Tenet, objects move in two directions in time.
For example, bullets from the gun are not only fired, but also sucked in. In the world of Nolan’s Tenet, cars drive forward and backward through the technical manipulation of time. There are numerous prominent examples of entertaining and also confusing time travel films. The protagonists in Groundhog Day, Back to the Future and Donnie Darko become entangled in webs of manipulated time and experience profound changes in their world and themselves.
