An almost complete skeleton of the dinosaur species stegosaurus has been sold to an unknown buyer for 44.6 million dollars, equivalent to around 470 million kroner.

The roughly 150-million-year-old dinosaur fossil, which is about 3.3 meters high and 8.2 meters long, was expected to fetch between $4 million and $6 million.

Described as one of the most well-preserved dinosaur skeletons of its kind, the specimen was discovered near the town of Dinosaur in the US state of Colorado in 2022. It contains 254 of 319 bone fragments.

It was sold at the auction house Sotheby’s in New York.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina promises punitive measures after violent protests in the country that left six people dead.

– I will see to it that those who are guilty of murder, looting and violence – whoever they may be – will receive appropriate punishment, Hasina said in a televised address to the nation.
