Many fans were delighted when Mark Harmon announced his return to the NCIS franchise. For 19 seasons, he played Supervisory Special Agent Leory Jethro Gibbs in the crime series NCIS before he retired the detective icon of US network television.
However, it quickly became clear that Harmon would not return for another season of NCIS. Instead, he acts as narrator of the prequel NCIS: Origins, which is set in the 1990s and tells the story of young Leroy Gibbs. Now Harmon speaks in detail about his role for the first time.

At the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, Harmon is particularly pleased about the new teamwith whom he will be working on NCIS: Origins, as Deadline summarizes in a report.
The TV star says:
I don’t know what to say except that I’m happy to be part of this team. And I have no problem taking a step backto let this cast do its job. We spent a lot of time finding this group that is sitting in front of us now.

He remains modest beyond that:
I am actually only a small part [von NCIS: Origins]because I’m not there to initiate major developments or anything like that. I’m just here to support. And how can I help? And if you need my help, great. And if not, that’s fine too. And so far everything’s been going well.
We can look forward to seeing how the Passing the baton exactly what happens. Austin Stowell (Bridge of Spies) plays the young version of the character that made Harmon immortal.
Crime updates on TV: When does NCIS: Origins start?
NCIS: Origins starts on October 14, 2024 in the USA on the CBS channel, which also hosts the other series in the crime franchise. It is currently unclear when and how the story of young Gibbs will come to Germany. In the USA, there are also plans to release the episodes of the prequels on the Paramount+ streaming service.
