French President Macron Accepts Prime Minister Attals Resignation

Following the elections in France, the prime minister is changing. Following the cabinet meeting held today under the leadership of French President Emmanuel Macron, it was announced that Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has resigned.

According to the statement made by the Presidency, it was reported that Attal, whose resignation was accepted, will continue to carry out his duties until a new government is formed.

“The Republican forces must work together to create unity around projects and actions that serve the French people so that this period ends as quickly as possible,” the statement added.
Prime Minister Attal met with Emmanuel Macron to tender his resignation after the alliance of left-wing parties came first in the French general elections. In a statement made by the presidential office, it was stated that Macron asked Attal to remain as prime minister for the time being in order to ensure stability in the country. (İHA)
