The people, said to be from Vietnam, were found at a luxury hotel in central Bangkok on Tuesday.
The discovery was made by an employee of the hotel, who went up to the room after the check-out time had passed.
Initially, there was a report of a shooting, which is dismissed by the Thai police.
“There are no signs of gunfire,” said a police officer who wished to remain anonymous.
