Renamed Prime Day Flash Sales, Amazon’s big commercial operation is back! The opportunity to take advantage of great promotions on high-tech products for Prime subscribers, but also for others, with the one-month free trial.

[Mis à jour le mardi 16 juillet à 13 h 30] While the sales are in full swing, Prime Day is making a big comeback on Amazon, under the name Prime Day Flash Sales. The summer edition of this major Amazon commercial ritual began this Tuesday, July 16 and will end on Wednesday, July 17, at 11:59 p.m. Because contrary to what its initial title suggests, this sale now lasts two days instead of the original one. Subscribers to the very practical Amazon Prime formula can take advantage of great promotions on thousands of products in many departments – garden, kitchen, hygiene, toys… and of course tech! The opportunity to find very interesting good deals!

Launched in 2015 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the online retail giant, this special operation was extended to two days following its great success. The opportunity to buy high-tech products or household items with substantial discounts, sometimes up to more than 70%: smartphone, gaming laptop, wireless headset, Bluetooth headphones, 4K TV… You’re bound to find what you’re looking for! And it’s not always low-end or unsold items: this year again, we find reference and successful products from major brands, such as Samsung, Apple, Asus, HP, Philips, LG, Xiaomi or Google, to name just a few in electronics. As its name suggests, this operation is reserved for Prime subscribers. But it is possible to take advantage of it thanks to the service’s free trial offer for one month.

Prime Flash Days: Discounts for Amazon Prime subscribers

As a reminder, Amazon Prime is a subscription loyalty program offered by the online retail giant that gives access to many services. The plan costs 6.99 euros per month or 69.99 euros for a year, all at once. You can try it for thirty days for free, and without commitment, which allows you to take advantage of Prime Flash Days without paying a subscription: just cancel the offer before the end of the trial, to avoid an automatic and paid renewal! Amazon Prime offers many services. Thus, products are delivered free of charge in one or two working days. The service also includes a video-on-demand platform (Amazon Prime Video), similar to Netflix or Disney+, with films, series and other programs. But Amazon Prime also gives access to Prime Music, an audio streaming service with two million music tracks available offline, and Prime Reading, which gives access to many books in digital format. And of course, there is Prime Gaming!

Prime Flash Days 2024: Beware of Phishing Scams!

Be very vigilant during Prime Day: scammers take advantage of this promotional period to scam Internet users, pretending to be Amazon customer service. Often, this is an email aimed at “informing” you that “one of the orders has been cancelled” or that you have made a purchase without knowing it. The email is accompanied by a supposed invoice attached. In reality, it is a file infected with malware capable of sucking up your personal and banking data. In addition, the site TechradarPro also warns against emails that ask to “update Amazon billing information”. The message is accompanied by a link to a fake page that looks like the Amazon website, the aim being to retrieve your personal and banking data… Classic but effective phishing techniques that always make victims (see our practical sheet on phishing).

The rule is simple: never click on a link in an email if you are not absolutely sure of the sender, especially if it is about a purchase or money! Generally speaking, it is better to log in to your Amazon customer account on the website or via the mobile application to check your orders. If in doubt, you can always contact customer service for confirmation.
