Minister of Internal Affairs Yerlikaya, in his statement on social media, stated that 3,626 litres of smuggled/fake alcohol were seized in the “Cengel-7” operations carried out in 26 provinces in the last week against individuals producing smuggled/fake alcohol, and noted that 50 suspects who were determined to be producing smuggled/fake alcohol were caught.
Minister Yerlikaya said, “Our operations will continue with determination against alcohol smugglers and those who produce counterfeit alcohol for the safety and health of our citizens” and noted the following:
“As a result of the work carried out by the Provincial Police Departments and Provincial Gendarmerie Commands KOM Branch Directorates under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security KOM Presidency and the Gendarmerie General Command KOM Department Presidency; “Cengel-7” operations were carried out against individuals producing illegal/fake alcohol in Antalya, Muğla, Ankara, Denizli, Amasya, Aydın, İstanbul, Edirne, Eskişehir, Manisa, Kars, Trabzon, Mersin, İzmir, Gaziantep, Balıkesir, Ağrı, Isparta, Bayburt, Bartın, Uşak, Erzincan, Niğde, Sivas, Kırıkkale and Şırnak.
