Donald Trump was met with cheers when he entered the stage during his first appearance at the Republican National Convention. This just two days after surviving the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.
It was a dramatic moment when Trump appeared with a bandage over his right ear from the gunshot wound – and he received a warm reception from family and allies.

“Shouldn’t be here”
In the booth, he took a seat with his family and his new vice presidential candidate, the 39-year-old JD Vance.
Earlier in the evening, Trump presented the announcement on his own platform Truth Social.
“After much deliberation and thought, and in consideration of the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the office of Vice President of the United States is Senator JD Vance,” he wrote in the post.
During the convention, Trump was formally nominated as the Republican presidential candidate.
– I shouldn’t be here, I should be dead, Trump said earlier in the day to the New York Post newspaper.
