The car lacked sensors – cameras were offered
When the man test drove the car in December of the same year, he discovered that the car lacked sensors, something that counts as basic safety equipment. According to the notification which News24 took note of, the man bought the car for SEK 857,150 and, due to the price, expected a “consistently high standard”.
As compensation for the sensors, the man was offered cameras that, according to Tesla, would fulfill the same function. It wouldn’t be long before the cameras proved to be useless in the Swedish winter weather. The cameras were covered in slush and dirt immediately.
At the same time, a number of other faults with the car were discovered – among other things, the driver could only drive 270 kilometers without recharging, even though it was promised that he could drive up to 500 kilometers.
The buyer complained to the company in December 2022 and advertised the purchase in February 2023. The seller promised to get back to me and come up with a solution but since March 2023 the buyer has not heard anything from the company.

Tesla owes Swedish motorist SEK 800,000
After drawing up a report to the General Complaints Board (ARN), the board ruled in favor of the man in Gothenburg.
ARN considered that the goods did not correspond to the descriptions in the purchase agreement and that the cameras offered to the buyer could not replace the sensors. In connection with a number of different faults on the car, ARN assessed that Tesla is obliged to repay the buyer a full 800,000 kroner.
The decision cannot be appealed.
