Tier List – All classes in the ranking

In The First Descendant you can unlock 14 different characters, all with different strengths and playstyles. We’ve ranked the 14 descendants in a tier list so you can get an idea of which classes are the best.

How does this tier list come about? We have checked various sources and compiled the tier list in such a way that it reflects the current perception of the individual descendants within the community as best as possible. We have not yet been able to test all descendants ourselves and are still in the process of earning them. The tier list is therefore still a work in progress and will be adjusted in the future if necessary. If you have any suggestions for improvement or simply want to share your own tier list, please write in the comments!

What did we rank for? There are various topics for which tier lists can be created in The First Descendant – for example, based on suitability for farming or boss fights. However, we have tried to create a tier list that is as general as possible. In other words, a ranking that will help you get an overview, especially at the beginning of the game.

The First Descendant: Tier List for all classes

You can easily view our tier list with all classes from The First Descendant on the screenshot. Below the screenshot there is a breakdown of why we chose a rank for the various descendants.

S-Tier: The currently best Descendants

Gley: For Gley, there is currently the so-called “Infinite Ammo Build”, which allows you to shoot infinitely. This allows Gley to defeat bosses extremely quickly and is currently considered perhaps the best class for boss fights – at least as long as players have not found similarly strong builds for other classes.

Valby: Valby is really good at dealing area damage. She is also quite nimble when she uses her Laundry ability to increase her movement speed. The same ability also increases Valby’s defense, which is why many players find her stronger than Bunny.

Ajax: Ajax is currently the preferred tank for many. His shields are extremely useful and give you a second to breathe and regenerate health points, even in boss fights.

A-Tier: These descendants are always a good choice

Freyna: Many players agree that Freyna is one of the strongest damage dealers. She causes damage over time (DoT) with her poison attacks, with each damage tick causing several hundred thousand damage in the right builds. While the damage over time is taking effect, she can of course continue to use weapons and thus deal additional damage.

Bunny: The sprinter Bunny is not only very fast, she is also really strong at defeating mobs (small enemies). With her skills she can take them out by running past them. However, since she has low defensive stats and no ability to increase her defense, she is only good enough for the A tier.

Yujin: With Yujin, The First Descendant has a classic healer. You won’t be able to defeat bosses solo with him, but if your group is having trouble surviving boss fights, a good Yujin can be the deciding factor.

Lepic: Lepic is an all-rounder and performs really solidly in various areas. He can do good damage against bosses – although there are better successors – and is equally good at taking out masses of enemies quickly and effectively. If you also have Ultimate Lepic, he becomes even stronger.

Enzo: For many players, Enzo is currently somewhere between the different levels. His own damage output could be higher, but his supporting skills are worth their weight in gold. He can be a great help, especially in a team, with his ammunition delivery and unlimited ammunition supply for all fighters. However, he earns his A rank with us through his passive ability: With Enzo, you can open encrypted vaults much more easily.

B-Tier: These are descendants who have the potential to reach higher levels

Kyle: Kyle has the potential to be one of the strongest descendants. When choosing which tank to play, many players currently choose Ajax. He is not only a starting character, but also offers better protection with his shields and acts more like a classic tank. However, a few players are already certain: Kyle is a real machine and belongs in higher ranks. However, we will wait until he has shown his strength to the masses.

Share: Sharen fluctuates in the various community tier lists between “absolutely tough” and “far too weak”. The consensus is often: Once you understand how to best play the Assassin, she is very strong. However, she is not well suited to solo players, as she does more damage when she is not the target of her opponents – which is rarely the case solo. We are therefore initially classifying Sharen as being in the B tier, which can be improved, as she is a complicated descendant who is not suitable for every player.

C-Tier: These are the Descendants, who are currently considered somewhat weaker

Blair: Like Freyna, Blair also deals damage over time. However, the poison expert is currently preferred by many players. The Fire Devil from The First Descendant seems to be a bit weaker and therefore occupies a rather low place in the rankings for the time being.

Viessa: Viessa is good at crowd control with her ice abilities, but her damage leaves a lot to be desired. Currently, it seems that Viessa is neither as good at supporting her allies as Yujin or Enzo, nor as good at dealing damage as Gley, Freyna, or Bunny.

Jayber: Jayber has a very passive playstyle, as he deals skill damage and healing primarily through turrets – this naturally limits his mobility somewhat. There are both healers and damage dealers that fill both roles better and therefore make more sense in teams. If you’re playing solo, however, Jayber is a good choice, as your turrets support you passively.

We are: Esiemo is also currently outperformed by other damage dealers in many tier lists, with Lepic in particular often emerging as the winner in direct comparisons with his grenades.

Annotation: The balancing of The First Descendant currently seems very good. There are players who say that all classes are roughly equally strong and just appeal to different playstyles. So don’t just rely on tier lists when choosing your descendant, but choose what best suits your playstyle and what you enjoy.
