While the beauty world continues to praise the benefits of this treatment that combines exfoliation, extraction and hydration, we wanted to test the hydrafacial treatment. Here is our experience and our impressions.

For several years, we’ve been talking about nothing else: the hydrafacial treatment. This famous non-invasive skin treatment, which combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration. However, if this treatment is so popular, in France and abroad, it’s because it promises immediate results: the skin is sublimated, plumped up, as if “lifted”. But what is this treatment so highly praised by experts and celebrities really worth? We tested it to find out for sure.

The appointment is made at the Innerskin center

The meeting is set for this Wednesday, July 10, at 4:00 p.m., within the Innerskin centerin Nice. This aesthetic medicine center, also present in Paris and St Tropez, claims to distinguish itself by its “revolutionary” approach to cosmetic surgeryby placing health at the heart of its practice. An argument that could only pique our curiosity.

This is also one of our first impressions, once we arrive on site: the overall health of each patient is taken into consideration (history, general condition, etc.), before accessing the chosen care. The skin type and problems encountered (redness, tightness, etc.) are of course taken into account in order to benefit from a tailor-made and risk-free experience.

Contraindications and potential side effects are also specified – as is the skincare routine to follow, post-treatment (no sun, nor application of cream or serum).

Hydrafacial, a complete treatment in several key steps

When it’s time for the treatment in the cabin, the practitioner, Sabrina, explains the different stages – and effects – of the treatment. It consists of:

    • From a cleansing and exfoliation : this first step removes impurities and dead cells, to prepare the skin to receive the treatment. A gentle peeling is thus carried out.
    • of an extraction, followed by hydration : Vortex-Fusion® technology is used here to gently dislodge blackheads and other impurities while simultaneously infusing the skin with moisturizing agents.
    • Of unification and protection : the skin is then nourished with antioxidants and peptides to revive its radiance.
    • From an infusion under LED : the session ends with about fifteen minutes of LED, a sort of large machine which promises to soothe the skin and contribute to cell renewal thanks to light therapy.

In our case, we opt for care Hydrafacial x PRX-T33 which combines these different stages and a PRX-T33 peeling importantbased on 33% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) (used for its exfoliating and regenerating effects), hydrogen peroxide (stimulating skin cell regeneration and deep tissue repair) and kojic acid (known for its lightening properties).

Although this PRX-T33 peel, carried out after the cleansing and exfoliation, extraction and hydration steps, stings slightly once applied, it nevertheless promises to offer an immediate burst of radiance and a lasting lifting effect (thanks to the stimulation of collagen production).

    Post-treatment results

First surprise when seeing yourself in the mirror, just after the LED session: the skin is tightened and several wrinkles on the forehead have disappeared. The skin seems rejuvenated, as if “lifted” and the impurities on the face have indeed disappeared (no more dead cells and blackheads).

The practitioner even shows us all the “waste” from the skin sucked up by the machine and we can only see that this treatment seemed necessary.

Another effect observed: the skin is deeply nourished, it shines. The hoped-for “glow” is there. The softness of the skin is also impressive. If sun spots and redness are still visible – it takes several sessions to reduce them and sometimes accompanied by targeted care (laser for brown spots) – the size of the pores (another promise of the Hydrafacial treatment) is significantly reduced.

In conclusion : We are rather impressed by this treatment, which is certainly fashionable, but which (amply) deserves its reputation. The skin is cleansed, but also plumped up and luminous. The effect on wrinkles and fine lines is immediate and lasts for the following days. Hats off!
