This year’s wedding in India has received harsh criticism

World celebrities, politicians and artists have flocked to India where the son of Asia’s richest man has married.
6.3 billion kroner landed the cost of the “wedding of the year” – which drew harsh criticism in the home country.
– They spend millions while the poor don’t even have food for the day, says Mohammad Hussaini, tailor.

In March, the celebration of the marriage between the billionaire’s son Anant Ambani, 29, and his fiancee Radhika Merchant, 29, began. Now four months later, they have married in Mumbai, India.

The wedding bill is reported to have landed at 6.3 billion kroner and it has been a star-studded guest list to say the least.

In the four months, among others, Mark Zuckerberg, Rihanna, Bill Gates, Justin Bieber, Tony Blair and Kim Kardashian have visited on various occasions.

“Poor people don’t have food for the day”

The bride and groom, along with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have received harsh criticism for the excessive luxury in their home country.

They believe that it is an insult to Indians who live in poverty.

– We see how the rich spend a fortune on their weddings and celebrities also participate. It is good, but at the same time you should keep the poor in mind, says Mohammad Hussaini, tailor and continues:

– They spend millions while the poor don’t even have food for the day.
