Shannen Doherty is dead. This is reported by industry magazine Variety in agreement with other media. The US actress fought fighting her cancer since 2015. Now she has succumbed to it. The star of series such as Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed was 53 years old.
Doherty’s publicist Leslie Sloane confirmed the actress’ death to People:
With a heavy heart I confirm the death of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after battling the disease for many years.

Doherty was born on April 12, 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee and ventured in front of the camera at a young age. She made her first appearance on TV in 1981. In the following years she appeared more and more in film and television. Her first major recurring role was as Jenny Wilder in the western series Little House on the Prairie from 1982 to 1983 and the final TV films.

Other important stops on her way to Hollywood were the romcom With Lipstick and Ice Cream from 1985 and the role of Kris Witherspoon in the drama series Our House.
