Iren and European Energy inaugurate new photovoltaic park

(Finance) – It was inaugurated today by Iren Group and European Energy, in Tuscania, in the province of Viterboa new photovoltaic park with a total power of 38.5 MWp. The mayor of Tuscania, Fabio, attended the inauguration Bartolaccithe CEO of Iren Energia, Giuseppe Bergesio, and Knud Erik Andersen, CEO and co-founder of European Energy.

The park It is made up of two plants of 17.28 MWp and 21.21 MWp respectively.Wp of power that will produce totally green energy, reducing atmospheric emissions by over 42,000 tons of CO2 per year. The infrastructure, which extends over 54 hectares of land in the town of Poggio della Ginestra, will ensure a production of 58 GWh per year, equal to the annual needs of over 17 thousand families. The iThe systems are made up of a total of 71,400 panels and 9 inverters, divided as follows: 32 thousand panels and 4 inverters for the first and 40 thousand panels and 5 inverters for the second.

The park is being put into operation following the acquisition operation – by the company Iren Green Generation, a company of the Iren Group dedicated to the development of renewables – of 51% of the companies that hold the authorizations. In collaboration with European Energy, which holds the the remaining 49%, the two plants were built, for a total investment of over 33 million euros.

For the Iren Group, the completion of the project leads to 210 MWp the installed electrical power from photovoltaic systems, which, together with the other renewable energy production systems, already represents approximately 50% of the Group’s entire electrical energy production. A commitment to the ecological transition consistent with the objectives of the Iren Industrial Plan to 2030, recently updated, and which envisages reaching over 2 GW of energy production from renewable sources over the plan period.

The entry into operation of this photovoltaic park confirms Iren’s leadership role in the growth path of renewables – he declares Joseph Bergesio, CEO of Iren Energia – Today’s is a finish line which confirms the Group’s utmost attention to the ecological and energy transition to which over 70% of the 8.2 billion euros of investments envisaged in our industrial plan by 2030 are dedicated”.

“For a company like European Energy it is important to have reliable partners like Iren. We need to accelerate the green transition in Italy and the best way to do this is to establish collaborations with developers and key players in the utilities sector in the area”, he claims Knud Erik AndersenCEO and co-founder of European Energy.
