(Finance) – Producer prices increased more than expected in the month of June. According to the US Department of Labor (BLS), producer prices rose 0.2% on a monthly basis after flatlining the previous month. Analysts had expected growth of 0.1%.
On an annual basis, prices recorded an increase of 2.6%, below the consensus +2.3% and compared to +2.4% in the previous month.
THE prices of “core” goods and services, i.e. the index adjusted for the most volatile components such as the food and energy sectors, they mark a variation of +0.4% on the month (+0.3% the previous month and +0.2% expected), while on the year they register a +3% after the previous +2.6% (+2.5% expected).
