    The patient sought treatment for, among other things, stomach pain, weight loss, changed stools and iron deficiency. In response, the patient was told that the iron deficiency was due to heavy periods.

    When the care finally gave the correct diagnosis, the cancer had spread so much that the patient could not be cured and later died as a result of the disease.

    A 25-year-old man has been shot in Helsingborg.

    – He has been shot with an unknown weapon. We have cordoned off the scene, says the police officer on duty, Ulrika Olsson.

    The man has been taken to hospital, but is said to be awake and able to speak.

    A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the shooting.

    Update:

    Early on Sunday morning, police confirmed that the man arrested is in his 40s and that he had been detained by prosecutors overnight.

    There has been a fire in an apartment in Sollentuna municipality.

    The alarm came in at 8:30 p.m.

    – One person has been taken to hospital, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the police.

    The extent of the damage is unclear.

    The emergency services have been on site and extinguished the fire.

    The police have been alerted to a new burglary attempt with acid on Kungsholmen.

    – Someone tried to break in, but they don’t seem to have gotten into the apartment in question. It is the same modus operandi that has been noticed before, not least today, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.

    The rescue service also assists in the operation.

    – These are substances we are not completely sure about and there are chemicals, so as a precaution the emergency services are involved.

    The alarm came in at 6:40 p.m.

    A motorcyclist has died after a traffic accident in Nykvarn.

    The man, who is aged 65, collided with a car.

    Next of kin have been notified.

    The police are investigating the accident as negligence in traffic.

    A man has died after a quad bike accident in Skellefteå.

    – It was passers-by who raised the alarm about the accident, says Jessica Jonsson at the police.

    The accident happened at 2:30 p.m.

    – The accident occurred near a relatively large motorway. We will investigate how it happened.

    The man was in upper middle age, the police said.

    Relatives have been notified.

  • Bus in the ditch – several victims

    A bus has run off the road outside Simrishamn.

    Seven people are said to have traveled in the bus.

    There are no reports of anyone being injured.

  • Man beaten in a forest

    A man in his 40s has been robbed and beaten in a forest outside Hovsjö in Södertälje.

    The man has, for an unknown reason, met two men unknown to him in the forest. The unknown men then assaulted him and robbed him of both cash and an electric scooter, according to the Stockholm police.

    The man who was beaten was taken to hospital by ambulance.

    The perpetrators have not been found.

    Good question Bengt! And it’s probably not something I can answer, but a big difference between Sweden and the USA is that election day here is always a holiday, which at least makes it possible for more people to vote without having to take time off (if you don’t vote early then).
