Donald Trump after the shooting last night: “Knew the bullet”

Donald Trump was shot during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania last night.
The ex-president was hit in the ear but is otherwise unharmed.
The shooter – identified as a 20-year-old man – is dead.
“I felt the bullet through my skin,” Trump writes on his platform Truth Social.

Donald Trump’s campaign rally was suspended shortly after it began around midnight after several shots were fired.

The ex-president grabbed his ear before his security guards pounced on him.

On the way up he asked for his shoes and showed a clenched fist with blood running down his face.

He must have said “fight”.

Shooter identified

One person in the audience has died. This is a grown man.

The shooter is identified as a 20-year-old man. He was killed shortly after the shots. He was lying on a roof with a rifle.

The FBI has his DNA. They have not yet been able to determine any motive, they stated at a press conference on Sunday morning.

“Terrible that it can happen here”

On his own social media platform Truth Social, Donald Trump thanked the Secret Service for their swift action.

“But most importantly, I want to offer my condolences to the family of the person who was shot dead during the encounter, and also to the family of the other person who was seriously injured. It is terrible that something like this can happen in our country.”

“I was shot with a bullet that hit the upper part of my right ear. I immediately felt something was wrong when I heard whistling sounds, gunshots, and felt the bullet go through my skin.”
