The effect on the continued presidential election campaign largely depends on the motive of the person who shot at Trump’s campaign rally. That assessment is made by Chris Galdieri, a political scientist at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire.
“Some Republicans are already claiming that it is President Joe Biden’s rhetoric that bears the blame for this shooting, without having any evidence for it,” writes Galdieri in an email response to TT.
He says the violence of the shooting should be unthinkable in democratic America, which is why it’s so outrageous and outrageous.
Great importance, decisive according to Galdieri, because the aftermath will be what can be found out about the suspected shooter and his motive.
Galdieri believes that Donald Trump will try to show that he is strong and decisive during the Republican convention that starts on Monday, in the same way he did when the pandemic broke out during his presidency.
