The body of little Célya, aged six, was discovered during the night after the “kidnapping alert” system was triggered. According to an initial external examination of the body, her death was the result of “extremely violent acts”. The main suspect, her stepfather, was arrested and taken into custody.
After calling the police to inform them of the assault by her partner and the kidnapping of her child, the “kidnapping alert” system was triggered by the State services. It was finally a local resident, who, shortly after 10 p.m., helped locate the suspect’s vehicle after alerting the police. “The searches then led to the discovery of the child’s lifeless body,” the public prosecutor said during his press conference. According to an initial external examination carried out by a forensic doctor, the causes of the 6-year-old girl’s death were linked to “extremely violent acts.” “The forensic doctor carried out an external examination which revealed a major fracture of the skull at the back of the head which likely caused the death,” explained Frédéric Teillet. Several post-mortem injuries were also noted on the child’s body which appear to be excessive violence on the latter’s body. “A scan and an autopsy of the body will be carried out on Monday, as well as an anatomo-pathological examination to complete this initial assessment,” the prosecutor explained.
