This simple trick stops your mascara from running in hot weather!

While some people prefer to opt for natural makeup in the summer, others prefer to sport doe eyes. The problem with mascara? In hot weather, it tends to run quickly. Fortunately, an Internet user has found the solution to enlarge your eyes without looking like a panda.

Why does mascara run when it’s hot?

In summer, many of us have found ourselves with a painted face. Understand: the mascara has run and this beauty treatment has (quickly) been reduced to nothing. A dramatic makeup, with an unexpected result, which is partly explained by sweat.

With heat, this actually increases, including around your eyes. Sweat can then come into contact with mascara, dissolving it and causing black marks under your eyes.

Another factor that can damage makeup is sebum. This is more prevalent in summer and can dissolve mascara and cause it to run.

Finally, non-waterproof mascaras have formulas that are more likely to dissolve when exposed to moisture.

To make the mascara look waterproof, an influencer, who goes by the name of @suzi_sina, uses a rather simple beauty “trick”: she takes a little loose powder and soaks the brush in it before dipping it back into the mascara tube.

So the powder – designed to absorb water and oil – mixes into the mascara formula, making it more compact and resistant to humidity.

A rather effective solution, which however has a time limit: the mascara, thus impregnated, can become too compact in the long term. It is therefore better to use it quickly, before it becomes too difficult to apply.
