The family behind the Boda Sand empire rakes in millions

For 30 years, Sweden’s largest campsite, Böda Sand on Öland, has been in the family Barkevall’s possession.

The family has run the facility on their own since 1994, when mother Mona Barkevall birthday and dad Johan Barekvall came home with a rather special birthday present: a campsite.

Since then, the campsite has developed into a large resort, with over 7,000 guests per night during the summer months. The resort is located along a mile-long white sand beach and is complemented by a range of amenities, including restaurants, a grocery store, sauna world, swimming pool and a nine-hole golf course.
