Israeli forces withdrew from parts of Gaza City last night. According to Palestinian sources, dozens of things have been found in the area.
The teams of the rescue services in Gaza have found a total of about 60 bodies killed by Israeli forces during the week in the neighborhoods of Tel Al-Hawa and Sabra.
– There are bodies lying on the streets, bodies without limbs, bodies of whole families. Bodies were also found in the house of an entire family, which was completely burnt, a spokesman for the Gaza rescue services Mahmoud Basal says.
Israeli tanks and snipers are still present in parts of Gaza City. The rescue teams have warned the residents of the area not to return.
Over the past week, the Israeli army has carried out its heaviest attack since the outbreak of war in Gaza City, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, where it says Hamas fighters have regrouped. On Wednesday, the army issued an evacuation order for the entire Gaza City area.
The army says it has found a Hamas command center in the former headquarters of UNRWA, the Palestinian refugee relief agency. According to the army, drones and other weapons were found at the site.
More than a quarter of Gazans lived in Gaza City before the war. By the end of last year, the city had been almost completely destroyed by the fighting between Israel and Hamas and by Israeli bombardment.
In the southern city of Khan Yunis, four aid workers were killed in an Israeli attack, the news channel Al-Jazeera reports.
When the attack happened, the employees of the British Al-Khair Foundation were preparing food aid to be distributed in the warehouse that the Israeli army attacked.
