That’s why Anders Kraft is leaving TV4

Anders Kraft, 55, says goodbye to TV4.
Although it came as a bolt from the blue, it was a well thought out decision.
– It wasn’t driven by impulse, I’m very analytical. I have received a lot of support from my children and people around me who said: It is probably time, and we will solve this, he says.

Anders Kraft’s TV4 career began at TV4’s local station in Halland in 1996 before moving to Stockholm and Nyhetsmorgon. But for the past thirteen years, most people recognize him as a profiled news anchor on TV4 Nyheterna.

But that’s over now.

After 28 years in the box, Anders Kraft chooses to leave TV4.

– I don’t feel bad, I’m not sick and nothing is problematic. I need to work other times. I can’t work late nights anymore. I need a little more freedom and daytime, he says and explains:

– I am 55 years old, I need to sleep better, go to bed earlier and have more time for my parents.

“I’ve dreamed of that”

Kraft says that for a long time he wanted to do something else.

– From time to time over the years I have tried to do something else as a break. And many years ago I did something small in entertainment.

But there has only been a dream for Kraft.

– I have really only dreamed of the correspondent job in the USA. Unfortunately, that never happened.

– They wanted me in the studio and in the box, “poor me”, he says and emphasizes that it is not his fault.

He also emphasizes that the decision to leave was not driven by impulse.

– I am very analytical. I have received a lot of support from my children and people around me who said: It’s probably time, we will solve this.

Has made his last broadcast

He has many fond memories of his time at TV4. But there are some that stand out – including when he got to go sailing with Crown Princess Victoria.

– News morning had a collaboration with the Volvo Ocean Race, it was an ocean race sailing in Rio de Janeiro and I am standing on one of the boats. It was crazy cool. Then I told the Crown Princess, but she took it well.

What he will do in the future he doesn’t really know yet.

– What should I do? What do I suit? Should I wash cars now or should I become a stock exchange guy?

Yesterday, Anders Kraft made his last broadcast for TV4.

– Fredrick Malmberg, who is head of news at TV4 Nyheterna, said that I will be broadcast free in the future during the notice period. Incidentally, we did the last broadcast together and we hugged when it was finished, he concludes.
