The First Descendant promises not to nerf one of the best builds – challenges players to build even better builds

Some players in The First Descendant community feared that the developers might nerf a strong build for Gley, but they have now given the all-clear.

Which build is it? There is a so-called “Infinite Ammo/Magazine” build for the descendant “Gley”. With this build, Gley is able to shoot continuously without having to reload thanks to her “Frenzy” and “Increased Sensing” abilities.

With this build you can do a lot of damage, especially against bosses, if you use weapons like the “Tamer”. This is a rare machine gun. The “Tamer” is considered a damage monster that melts bosses, although it is not an ultimate weapon.

Part of the community feared that the developers might nerf the build, but they have now given the all-clear.

Infinite ammunition is very powerful, but within the limits

What do the developers say? Hotfix 1.0.2 went live on June 11th. In the patch notes, the developers explain that there are currently no plans to nerf the Infinite Ammo build. It is very strong, but within the scope of what was imagined.

It has come to our attention that the community is concerned about potential nerfs to Tamer and Gley’s infinite magazine builds. This meta is very strong, but since it is within the scope of what the dev team has planned, there are no immediate plans to do this. […]

We’ve been looking forward to seeing the Descendants use creative builds to quickly take down powerful behemoths, so we’re excited to see this in action now.

The developers of the loot shooter then challenged players to put even more effort into building builds.

What challenge did the developers face? The team behind The First Descendant not only promised in the patch notes not to nerf the Infinite Ammo build. They also challenged players to create other, even better builds.

The developers explained that there are stronger weapons than the Tamer machine gun and that some character builds can keep up with Gley’s Infinite Ammo and you should enjoy them to their fullest.

Gley: Infinite Ammo Build

How exactly does the build work? The build is based on two of Gley’s abilities: Frenzy and Heightened Sensing.

  • rage
  • Consumes life points (HP) to activate the Frenzy state.
  • In the frenzy state, firearm attack and penetration increase (buff)
  • In addition, the damage received is increased and HP recovery is reduced (debuff).
  • Increased sensory perception
  • Grants you unlimited ammo for a certain period of time while in the frenzy state.
  • Outside of the frenzy state, movement speed, HP recovery, and the rate at which health orbs are generated are increased.
  • You want to use these two skills to create a gameplay loop that you repeat over and over again: First, you activate Frenzy, then you activate Heightened Sensing. Now you have infinite ammo for a short time. You can see this when you shoot because no shot is removed from your magazine despite continuous fire.

As soon as you activate “Increased Sensing”, the cooldown for the ability starts. Your goal now is to use your reactor and modules to reduce the cooldown for “Increased Sensing” so much that it runs out before the ability ends. Content creator Dakquan shows you what your build should look like on YouTube.

Once you have successfully built the build, you can reactivate “Enhanced Sensing” immediately after it expires and repeat this until the boss is eliminated.

If you want to discover more builds, we have presented you with a bunny build on MeinMMO, with which you can effectively eliminate small enemies as you run past without firing a shot yourself. The build is good for farming. You can find out more here: The First Descendant Bunny Build – How to eliminate enemies as you run past
